How nervous do you feel about this moment? It took you for ever to pluck up the courage to ask them out on a date and now you have – what are you going to do with them? If you are short on ideas and cash but want to give them a night that will capture their heart forever, this article shows you three of my favourite fun and cheap date ideas.
Take them to an art gallery or museum
This doesn’t have to be as boring as it sounds – it can be stimulating and intense, such as a visit to a museum of modern art or sculpture exhibition. Talk to your date about the feelings that they have when they look at each piece and talk to each other and share your thoughts without judgement. You can find out a surprising amount about a person and their views on love matters through a discovery of art. These galleries and museums are often free or very cheap, meaning that you can take your date for a coffee afterwards. I promise you that by the end of this one you will know whether you are right for one another.
Open mic poetry night
This probably sounds like the corniest thing you could do, not to mention the scariest, but think how impressed your date would be if you were to stand up in a room full of strangers and read a poem that you had written for the occasion. If this is the first date, it’s probably best to keep it entertaining and not too heavy, you don’t want to seem too desperate! The poem doesn’t have to be too long, it’s the sentiment that matters, and you may even impress yourself! If you don’t feel brave enough to stand up yourself, many other’s will, so you can still spend the evening listening to romantic poetry together.
An afternoon at an ice cream parlour
Imagine sharing a huge ice cream sundae with two spoons, getting messy and having a great time together. This date gives you a chance to get to know each other and build a rapport without being too heavy for an early date. You are aiming for an atmosphere of innocent fun rather than heavy passion, but for an early date this is probably a good idea, especially if you are don’t know each other very well and are unsure of each other’s feelings. Why not put on the juke box, and put some dancing tunes on!
